Visual Arts

The goal of the visual arts curriculum is to build a strong foundation for students in the areas of historical thought (art history), analytical reason (art criticism), and creative ideas (art production), teaching objective standards of form and beauty all testifying to the glory of God.
Elementary school students are introduced to the important elements of making and appreciating art, with an emphasis on important artists, works of art, and artistic concepts.

Middle and High school students are exposed to a sequential study of various media and techniques for developing skill in art. Emphasis in drawing, shading, proportion, and perspective as well as color concepts, composition, and presentation give students ample opportunity to develop their own artistic creativity.

Student work is enjoyed throughout the school, showcased at the annual Evening of the Arts Gala, and presented in student displays at the Hockaday Art Museum in Kalispell.
